Member of the Support-Circle of the Working Group Geothermal Energy

Prof. Dr. Bodo Lehmann can look back on more than 30 years of professional experience at the engineering service provider DMT GmbH & Co. KG. He is currently jointly responsible for geo-services, where he is head of "Exploration and Engineering Geophysics" and managing director of DMT Petrologic. After his studies at the WWU Münster and his doctorate at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, he habilitated at the Montan-Universität in Leoben in the field of seismic tomography. He currently lectures in Leoben as well as at the Georg Agricola University of Technology in Bochum.

He has been involved in deep geothermal energy for almost 30 years in the field of exploration. DMT has played a major role in almost all exploration projects in Europe in this field. The last projects were successfully carried out for Wien Energie and Stadtwerke München (~170 km² 2D seismic). The Vienna project in cooperation with OMV is the largest area ever measured in Europe with over 1,200 km², with up to 18 seismic vibrators and over 30,000 seismic geophone stations. Seismic data processing with subsequent interpretation and modelling is also part of the deep geothermal value chain. Currently, Prof. Lehmann is involved in the Interreg project DGE-Rollout, which deals with the development of deep geothermal energy in Northwestern Europe.

Prof. Lehmann is a member of the boards of the German Geophysical Society, the Geosciences Umbrella Association (Dachverband Geowissenschaften) and the Geothermal Energy Economic Association (Wirtschaftsvereinigung Geothermie) of the GZB.
