Welcome to our 2-year MSc program Applied Geosciences Karlsruhe at KIT. We offer three MSc profiles Energy, Resources & Storage - ERS, Hydrogeology & Engineering Geology and Mineralogy and Geochemistry. Alternatively, you may chose modules from different profiles (FlexiGeo) according to your interests. The language of instruction in Energy, Resources & Storage - ERS is English:

  • 4 semester regular study time (2 years) including 6 months MSc thesis
  • 120 ECTS credits
  • language of instruction English and German, depending on on your chosen profile
  • Incomings can study our major profile GeoEnergy & GeoResources in English
  • for the major profile GeoEnergy & GeoResources our students are requested to verify their English language skills by a C1 certificate not older than 3 years before start of their MSc thesis

  • first university degree according to admission regulations, e.g. SPO (in German)
  • proven language proficiency
  • admission is possible for both summer and winter term, we recommend to start with the winter term

Our MSc program includes several field courses. This includes a mapping course to Spain or Scandinavia. Our international trips took us to Brazil, Oman, Iceland and S-Africa. Additional field courses are part of the respective module within each profile. This includes trips to Switzerland, S-England, Pyrenees and other locations.
