Curriculum vitae

Dr. Emmanuel Gaucher is a geophysicist. After earning his doctorate (1998) on induced seismicity of the geothermal reservoir in Soultz-sous-Forêts (France), he spent 12 years working for service companies in the oil and gas sector in microseismic monitoring (CGG-Veritas and Magnitude-Baker -Hughes).

Among other things, he led the research and development department and carried out several projects for international operating companies (e.g., BP, Kuwait Oil Company, Total).

For 8 years at KIT, Emmanuel has been involved in the seismic monitoring of geothermal reservoirs (Bruchsal, Rittershoffen), investigating the physical processes associated with induced seismicity in geothermal reservoirs, developing methods for the use of induced seismicity as a tool for reservoir imaging and probabilistic Approaches to the processing and evaluation of geophysical data.

Since 2017, Emmanuel is active in the Sprecherkreis of Working Group "Geothermal Energy" of the German Geophysical Society and supports the speaker in his work.
