Workshop of the DGG working group geothermal energy in Wennigsen

The working group Geothermal Energy of the German Geophysical Society met in 2018 for its annual workshop on 8 and 9 November in Wennigesen near Hannover.


20 participants from university and non-university research institutions, authorities and companies discussed the strategies and goals of the newly established working group with regard to

upcoming DGG activities:

  •     Data Organization / Data Access
  •     Overview research projects
  •     Network to other AK's

The DGG working group Geothermal Energy jointly and unanimously adopted the following resolution:

"Participants are in favor of geothermal exploration activities through the establishment of one or more large-scale infrastructures, which, in addition to clarifying scientific issues, also serve to increase the acceptance of geoenergy in Germany."
