Founded as polytechnical school in 1825 by Johann Gottfried Tulla (engineer), Friedrich August Walchner (geologist) and others, KIT became one of the first universities in Europe with a focus on technology and engineering. Water, resources and energy have been important topics ever since the establishment of KIT and Applied Geosciences.
Top international rankings such as the QS-ranking and NTU-ranking rate Applied Geosciences@KIT number one and two, respectively, and demonstrate our international visibility.
