Our MSc program

Welcome to our 2-year MSc program Applied Geosciences Karlsruhe at KIT. We offer three profiles and a modular flexible MSc program from any major according to your interests. The language of instruction in Energy, Ressources & Storage - ERS is English:

Bullet points MSc AGW at KIT

  • 4 semester regular study time (2 years) including 6 months MSc thesis
  • 120 ECTS credits
  • language of instruction English and German, depending on on your chosen profile
  • Incomings can study our major profile GeoEnergy & GeoResources in English
  • for the major profile GeoEnergy & GeoResources our students are requested to verify their English language skills by a C1 certificate not older than 3 years before start of their MSc thesis

MSc Admission requirements

  • first university degree according to admission regulations, e.g. SPO (in German)
  • proven language proficiency
  • admission is possible for both summer and winter term, we recommend to start with the winter term
  • additional notes on tuition fees for non-EU students from our International Office

Our MSc program includes several optional field trips. It includes a 8 day mapping course to Spain, you may choose your field training in the alps or join a reservoir relate trip to SW England. Our last year's international trips took us to Brazil, Oman and Iceland. Future trips are planned to South Africa and Arabia.
