Forschungs-/Arbeitsfelder

The scope of my research is to better constrain the distribution and mobility of metals during the formation and evolution of the oceanic crust.

Important fluxes of metals occur during oceanic crust formation, alteration and, eventually, collision or subduction. These fluxes, when the conditions are appropriates, can lead to the formation of various type of hydrothermal ore deposits such as volcanogenic massive sulfide deposits. The source areas of the metals trapped in these deposits, however, are not well constrained and their investigation can provide important information on their genesis.
